Young Artists Monday Term 1

Monday 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Each term includes 10 classes Term 1 - from 3rd of Februsary till 7th of April 2025 We target talented children age 10 to 15 years old, who are showing interest in developing their artistic skills, creating professional artworks and exhibiting in local art exhibitions. Each student will have their own easel to work on, including canvases, paint and all art materials. These classes are designed to help students develop creative thought, inspire imagination, encourage self-expression and foster artistic potential. Throughout the term, we discover the world of art through a variety of themes: landscape, portraiture, abstract painting, still life, figurative art and more. The students will explore a wide variety of art mediums such as acrylic painting on canvas, drawing and shading with pencils, charcoal, coloured ink, watercolours, pastels, mixed media and much more… We encourage our students to participate in local art exhibitions and art prizes. One of our award-winning students is Pietro Pelossi (age 11). Pietro won the first prize at The Christmas Story Art Competition, which was exhibited at the Saint Mary Cathedral in 2016. In 2017 our student Anya Radomir (age 10) won the third prize for Endangered Species Children Competition in NSW. Selected out of 600 artwork entries in NSW! Grace Wren’s artwork titled “Growing Voices” got Highly Commended at the Coogee Public School art competition 2018. In 2019 our students participated in Waverley Art Prize and the annual Maroubra Art Show. In March 2020 three of our students participated in the Randwick Council woman art prize. Ruth Duncan (age 14 ) got the people’s choice award for the youth category. In 2022 Eric Hess got awarded second prize for the Waverley Youth Art Prize.
