Oil Painting Workshop

Sunday 2/3/25 - 10 am to 1 pm Oil painting is a beautiful medium to create great art! The advantages of oil for painting images include greater flexibility, richer and denser colour, and a wider range from light to dark. Learning how to use oil paint can add another dimension to your paintings. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some painting experience in this workshop you will explore the possibilities of paint application and painting surface. This workshop will be guided by artist Rachel Fairfax. What you will learn *How to create bold, textured paintings with the theme of abstract landscapes, inspired by artists Elizabeth Cummings, Idris Murphy, Guido Maestri and Luke Sciberras. *Learn about various pigments, mediums and oil painting process. *How to apply a fat over lean painting sequence *Introduction to colour theory & creating harmony *Create stunning textures with oil paint All your art materials will be provided: Stretched Canvas Oil paints and painting mediums All studio tools and brushes At the end of the session, you will have created your own oil painting with your creative expression!
